North Hokkaido Summer 2017 #8


A Long-tailed Rosefinch from last week..............


This is a common breeder in north Hokkaido but is not as easy to photograph as the Rubythroats............

Here are some typical views...........




White-tailed Eagles breed in the area and sometimes flapped over...........



Lathams Snipe were a common roadside bird............

    Not sure if you've shown us the Long-tailed Rosefinch before? It certainly has some stunning colours.

      I've posted pics before but not so often........they are a shy species that usually fly off before I can get close.......
