Another hot humid Sunday
The weather is still hot and humid.........................
Birding is always quiet at this time of year. Nothing much in town. The Rhinoceros Auklets have all disappeared: maybe they don't breed nearby after all. At Kamiiso the only thing of any interest are a small group of Goosander............
We were out west today. Birds around included Osprey, Peregrine, Little-ringed Plover, Common Sandpiper, Pacific Swift, Sand Martin and Chestnut-eared Bunting.
And this very very scruffy Pelagic Cormorant.
I couldn't get any Osprey shots today but there were lots of Japanese Green Pigeon around at various sites (these 2 birds are often the only photogenic species easily found at this time of year).
I fired off a BIF series as one came down to the sea to drink........

That Cormorant made me laugh. What a scruff. Your Green Pigeons are treemendous to look at - great colouring.
ReplyDeleteYes, Yellowhammers are very scarce now. I went back to that regular site today and got more pics for my blog.
Thanks Phil.
DeleteI saw my first Yellowhammer near Ullswater in the late 70's, it's the only one I can clearly recall.........
That Japanese Green Pigeon is spectacular - great flight shots.
