North Hokkaido Summer 2017 #13

Still a few photos to post from the end of last month....................

If Stellers Sea Eagle is the bird of winter in Hokkaido then Siberian Rubythroat must be the summer counterpart................

I wish they bred nearer Hakodate..............

I've heard that this species is declining in Japan, especially in eastern Hokkaido. i've been to north Hokkaido the last 4 summers and they still seem pretty numerous.............but I have nothing to compare it to I guess, perhaps there are less of them there too. I really hope they hang on and continue to be at least fairly common on the grasslands of Hokkaido..............

  2. Wow. This is really amazing to see the photos of this little bird and it looks like that the bird is singing something and is in happy mood.

    1. OK Emma. you're a spammer but one whose spamming software makes it almost sound like you may actually have looked at my blog before commenting.

I passed my dissertation already by the way, in 1990.............about how unemployment rates affected the Conservative vote in constituencies Lancashire in the 1987 general election (don't pass out with excitement). If I ever need to rewrite it you'll be the first to know.
