A rainy morning in Onuma
It was raining heavily on Sunday....................
The rain was pretty bad in Hakodate, we saw a couple of Wood Sandpipers in the padis (which are still mostly dry) and headed over to Onuma.
The rain wasn't quite so heavy in Onuma and there were lots of birds about at least. Narcissus Flycatcher were everywhere..............
It got darker later on, these shots are ISO 1600, not ideal on a Canon crop camera. The 500 f4 is also a bit tough to use for these shots.............
There were also lots of Asian Brown Flycatcher.
This Little Grebe was unusually confiding..............not a species I photograph often although they are pretty common.
Other stuff around included Oriental and Common Cuckoo, Great-crested Grebe, Mandarin Duck, Russet Sparrow, Japanese Pygmy and Grey-headed Woodpeckers and Pacific Swift.
