Saturday afternoon in Onuma

A Goldcrest in Onuma this afternoon......................

There was a large ice free portion of the lake and a definite feeling of spring in the air.

The Smew were still around but not in such big numbers today. As skittish as ever though...............

I couldn't relocate any of the recent rare ducks but I did see 2 White-tailed Eagles, an adult Stellers Sea Eagle and my first Osprey of the year (the first time I've ever seen the latter 2 species on the same day).

The Great Cormorants have started arriving.................

And many of the common winter species are still around................

  1. Hello Stuart!:) The Smew and Great Cormorant IF shots are fabulous, and I especially like the last shot of the Cormorant. Needless to say I like all your photos Stuart, and love the image of the Goldcrest,.. such a pretty little bird.

    1. This was the only shot of about 20 or 30 that survived the cull.
