Despite a lot of driving around in great weather last weekend the birds were a bit thin on the ground...............
Apart from the Baikal Teal and Smew of course. But they were in the same place.
Still, it seemed like there wasn't much around generally, just common stuff.
Like Dusky Thrush.
And Whooper Swan.............
And Brent Goose...................
There were still a few White-tailed Eagle around, like this one at Onuma.
Other stuff in various locales included Long-billed Plover, Great Egret, Redpoll, Mandarin Duck, Black Woodpecker, the first Skylark of the season and the sual common stuff.
May seem thin on the ground to you, but it sure looks appealing to the rest of us!
ReplyDeleteThanks David, I guess sometimes we should appreciate the 'common' birds too.....
DeleteThe Smifs and the BGs - a musical weekend. Fab Dusky Thrush - none here in HK for a few winters now.
ReplyDeleteThanks John, I should have used the 'BGs' libe!
DeleteI would have been pleased to see all those birds. Love that Thrush
ReplyDeleteThanks Margaret............
