Still no red legs
There were still loads of kittiwakes out east last Thursday..............
I still couldn't find any Red-legged Kittiwakes. Statistically there must have been some I guess but it was beyond my luck/skill to find them. I did see 1 or 2 several years ago at Yakumo but they were only distant immatures (and even then I didn't clinch the ID until I got home and checked on the computer).
Still it was nice to see Black-legged Kittiwakes so close in 2 of the ports..............
And I got some BIF work in..............

Have to go over to Yorkshire to see Kittis close up nowadays. Nice BIFs Stu.
ReplyDeleteDon't think I've ever seen one in Lancashire.............
DeleteI think of Red-legged Kittiwakes being on the Alaskan side of the Pacific, but of course birds fly and they could well have joined your flock of Black-legged Kittiwakes.
ReplyDeleteThey're are a rare but regular wanderer to Japan..........
