The Waxwings are still putting on a show in the middle of Hakodate...............
I haven't got bored of them yet............
They were still on the main street in a big flock. There was a swarm of them on a tiny tree but I couldn't cross the road in time. Luckily there were a few tame random ones about...............
I had the 100-400 today. As you can see it was a sunny day.
There seemed to be a lot more Bohemian Waxwings today. Was this another flock?
But there were still lots of Japanese Waxwings............
January 2018 has seen a quite spectacular Waxwing invasion into Hakodate so forgive me for milking it.
And when there were no Waxwings there were Bramblings..............
A distant female Merlin flew over later in the afternoon and it seemed to be carrying a small bird. Had it nabbed a Waxwing.............?
If you get bored with them send them here!
ReplyDeleteYou must get them in winter there, right?
DeleteCedar Waxwing is a fairly common resident species, and we occasionally see Bohemian Waxwings, but generally farther north.
DeleteFor some reason I thought there'd be loads: my mistake.
