An invasion year?
There were more Waxwings around today................
2018 could be a big Waxwing winter. Perhaps.
There were 2 flocks in the neighbourhood today................
My teleconverter came back from Canon (there was nothing wrong with it meaning there is something wrong with my 500 f4) and I slapped it on the 100-400................
The results were a bit disappointing (though I hear the MK2 version of the lens works well with a T/C). All a bit soft and blurry.
They were almost all Japanese Waxwings although when checking through my photos I found there was at least 1 Bohemian Waxwing among them.
A Sparrowhawk was in the vicinity and caused the flock to disappear in panic a couple of times. This is why the flock is so jumpy................
