Estate Waxwings #2
Some more Waxwings from a few days ago............
After reconsidering I decided the Waxwing photo opps were worth being slightly uncomfortable in the middle of the housing estate so I went back..............l
It was great to have the 500 f4 with me for a change: most birding in town is with the 100-400 as the bazooka-like lens draws too much attention and is too heavy to walk around with for long. This time however the birds were less than 100 meters from my own apartment..............
A lot of similar looking shots.........
The birds didn't mind me getting close but they were still wary................
The combination of a wide aperture and the colours of the buildings in the background make these photos a lot nicer than the ones with the 100-400 on the high street.

Hello Stuart, You can never take too many photos of this beautiful bird. I enjoyed looking at all of them. Stuart, I don't know the ID of the little brown bird, but I must say it does look like the bird you mentioned. Thank you for your thoughts.:)
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteThat same species, Zitting Cisticola, occurs in Japan too (although not where I live)............
This series is the vicarious birding highlight of the winter for me - keep shooting!
