A Ural Owl in Onuma 6 years ago today. Sadly this tree was blown over by a typhoon a few years ago. It was a shame I couldn't photograph this individual in this tree with my 500mm lens..............
It's always precious to have a reliable spot to see owls. I used to have breeding Eastern Screech Owls behind my house until the city, in its infinite stupidity, decided to cut the tree down. It represented a threat to no one.
