On this day (January 28th)......................


January 28th 2009.

A Spectacled Guillemot in one of the local ports 9 years ago today. I've only ever seen this species twice in south Hokkaido although they do breed further north and east.

    that's another new one on me Stu. I'd settle for a Common Guillemot around here.

      I'd settle for one Common Guillemot around here too (they are fairly rare here)............

    I am heading out to Vancouver Island in April where we should see Pigeon Guillemot.
