2017 begins...........
We headed west of Hakodate today..................
A mild start to the year..................as it was when I started this blog 10 years ago today. Back then I was talking about settling down to sink a couple of beers and watch a bit of football on TV before my new year 'diet' began. I could write exactly the same sentence about my plans tonight.
There were quite a few Slavonian Grebes dotted along the coast.................
And the Peregrines were in their usual spot...............
Other stuff of note included flocks of Brent Goose, a small group of Buff-bellied Pipit, Black-necked Grebe, several White-tailed Eagles, the usual common ducks and gulls, Whooper Swan and Great Egret. We watched a group of dolphins offshore and their splashing around attracted lots of birds including several Pacific Divers.
