A grey January day #1
The Ring-necked Duck was still there this morning although I couldn't relocate the Baikal Teal.............
It was a dark grey rainy day, very unusual for January (well the rain is anyway).................
We started off in the ricefields outside town. A Merlin was a nice find but it flashed by before I could even pick up the camera. There were 2 White-tailed Eagle on a river though..............
After the deluge of eagles at Yakumo these were perhaps something of an anticlimax but it was nice to see them so close to town. Shame it was so overcast...........
The Ring-necked Duck was in a place close off because of bird flu. It seemed OK..............the photos are heavily cropped and it was very murky.
There were several Smew here too as well as a White-tailed Eagle. Yesterday there was a White-backed Woodpecker but it was too dark for any photos.
