Some of the local residents at Onuma yesterday afternoon......................
This is the local Hokkaido race of Long-tailed Tit, surely the cutest bird in Japan.
Also very tricky to photograph as it is very restless.
Treecreepers are the hardest of all, I've never taken a decent photo of one. As you can see.
All 5 resident woodpecker species were present although none close enough to photograph. It was difficult to get into the forest because of the deep snow.
