Another nice duck...............
After 3 or 4 days of heavy snow and real winter weather at last we headed to Onuma on Sunday to see if the Ring-necked Duck and/or Baikal Teal were still present.
They weren't unfortunately but I did see 3 Falcated Teal.................not as rare as the others but still fairly exotic.
Most of my shots were of the one drake. It was tricky getting a shot of it alone.............
I also saw a drake on the river near my flat last week but it was too wary to photograph.
This one was mixed in with the Mallard flock................
A female is to the right and (I think) an immature male is to the left...............
The lighting was not so great.....................
Finally I got it in nice light but it was a little far...............
