A mild Sunday afternoon

My wife was hungover this morning so we only managed a short trip out west..............

Although there was snow on the ground it felt very mild.

This Long-billed Plover was a surprise find in one of the harbours to the west of town. This is one of 4 Charadrius plovers we get in Hokkaido and this is the only resident one although it is pretty scarce.

This adult White-tailed Eagle was at Kikonai, I wasn't ready for it and my settings were all wrong as it took off, I missed a really good shot there.

Other stuff around included flocks of Brent Geese on the sea, Bullfinches nibbling shoots, a distant Mountain Hawk Eagle, Peregrine and Slavonian Grebe.............
