Just like the nearby White-billed Diver, the 2 Black-throated Divers were still around on Sunday after we'd seen them a couple of days before............
They showed a few more interesting poses than their bigger rarer relative...........................
I guess they're moulting rather than injured................?
One of them was still resting on the beach...............
It had no problem swimming at least...............
The other one didn't come as close................
I saw a Great Northern Loon on Lake Ontario recently, but nothing to compare with what you are seeing.
ReplyDeleteThat's the only diver/loon species I haven't seen in the last year here. Actually I've never seen one anywhere.......
DeleteThe Black-throated Diver looks just like the one we had in HK in March 2016.
