There were only 2 today, a pair I guess. Will they stay to breed I wonder?
They were easy to find as they kept calling to each other. All bar the a\last shot are of the male (I think),
Not many other birds in the park.....................
This is the female(?).
Brambling, Red-cheeked Starling, Coot and Hawfinch were also about.
Here's one of our common resident breeders, an Eastern Great Tit...........
Great to see the Wrynecks, they are winter visitors in HK, and only seen singly.
ReplyDeleteThey were one pair I suppose, it seemed like there were 3 yesterday.
DeleteSuper pictures Stu. I only hear Wryneck calling/singing once - at Leighton Moss one early June. It sounded very much like a Kestrel.
ReplyDeleteThey do sound like a bird of prey come to think of it............
DeleteThis kind of close (and continuing) contact with Wrynecks is something most of us will never have. You are very lucky!
ReplyDeleteThey are rare in the UK, like many species relatively common in Hokkaido..........
