End of year eagles.............
We managed a quick trip up to Yakumo.................
The scenery was a lot more wintry than last time.............
This adult Stellers Sea Eagle was feeding in a tree..............
Here's a short video of it..............
We saw lots of eagles close up but it was difficult to get a clear view..............
These are all White-tailed Eagles.................
It was dark and snowing...............not good for flight shots at all.
This individual seemed to have a broken foot..............
Other stuff around included Goshawk, Siskin and Long-billed Plover.

You could post pictures of these eagles all day every day and I would never get tired of them.
ReplyDeleteThanks David...........
DeleteA great series. You are lucky to have them so relatively close! Happy New Year.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sonja, you too............
DeleteSuperb photos. Looking forward to owl photos, if they are still around!
ReplyDeleteThanks Ken. Sadly all the 3 trees that had Ural Owl holes have fallen (from typhoons, not logging). I'm sure new Owl roosting holes will be found but as yet they remain unknown to me.
