A roadside surprise
A Mountain Hawk Eagle in Yakumo today.............
It was right by the roadside and it was tricky shooting it with a 500mm in portrait mode out of the car window..............
It didnt move much...........
The regular Stellers and White Taileds were resting high in the trees, there were only gulls and crows feeding on salmon in the river...............
Odd to see this Glaucous Gull so far inland, usually it's just Slaty Backed/Common or Black Headed Gulls upstream...............

ReplyDeleteThanks Wilma!
DeleteGreat job with the eagle despite shooting under less than ideal conditions.
ReplyDeleteWell I didn't have to crop the photo.............
DeleteWoww!! he/she looks a real mean soab
ReplyDeleteIndeed it is..................
DeleteGreat find ! I once had a juvenile close to a tour bus I was on; - the only technical issue was other people's heads in the way !
ReplyDeleteI couldn't believe how close it was actually.............thr 500 f4 was not the ideal lens here...............
