Black-browed Reed Warblers seemed to be more numerous on the Ohotsku coast than I remember............
On the grassland we visited daily there were 4 or 5 singing males (there were only 1 or 2 in previous summers).
Of course this is a common bird near Hakodate...........
Unlike some of the other grassland warbler species it sings out in the open..............
Oriental Reed Warblers, common in south Hokkaido, appear to be totally absent from the north.
