Still Still around..........
A quick look in the park and the Falcated Duck was still there..............but it hadn't gotten less shy.
A bit repetitive recently. At least today's poses/lighting were slightly different.
For shots in the water the 100-400 doesn't really cut it..............it was just too skittish.
After I kept approaching it and it kept flying away for 10 minutes I left it alone..............
Great Spotted Woodpecker, Crossbill, Hawfinch and lots of Dusky Thrush and Oriental Greenfinch but not much else in the park, hopefully the migrants will come soon.

It's not the kind of duck you are going to see every day, and it is spectacular, so you can be easily forgiven a little repetition.
ReplyDeleteThanks David.............actually I've seen a few of them this year, they are usually much scarcer. One day soon I'll get a tame one in nice light. I hope.
DeleteIt's hard to get any duck in flight. Until you try and take BIFs of wildfowl you don't realise how difficult it can be.
ReplyDeleteThanks Phil, it is indeed tricky and I think the AF on my old 100-400 is feeling its age too.
DeleteThey are very nice pictures, Stu. It's a superb duck. Maybe you need the new 100-400. I hear it's very good.
ReplyDeleteAh Rusell, you can read my mind...............
DeleteLoely shots
ReplyDeleteThanks Margaret............
