2015 ending slowly............
The weather relented a bit and we ended up at Onuma in brilliant winter sunshine.............
The common tits and nuthatches were present.
They were all very tame but sadly it looks like the Nuthatches that came to the hand have either moved on or perished, the Varied Tit was enticed by some seeds but it was the only one.
Hawfinch, Bullfinch, Siskin, White Tailed Eagle, Ural Owl and Whooper Swan were also around. I spent the last couple of days looking for Pallas Rosefinch near Sawara and not only did I not see them I hardly saw any birds at all. A female Kestrel was the only noteworthy species.
There were a few Dusky Thrush at Onuma.............
And unusual to see a Woodpecker not climbing up a tree...............
