Spring underway
Spring was well underway on Sunday..................
Whooper Swans were gathering in the fields near Onuma..............
They were in many locations. Up at Oshamanbe there were a pair of Mute Swans with them. White-fronted Geese were also passing through but none of the rarer goose species.............
The Dunlin were in their usual port.............
They are sometimes difficult to see................
And tricky to get BIF shots..............
Unlike this Great Egret at Onuma................
Other stuff on Sunday included White-tailed Eagle, Smew, Mandarin Duck, Great Cormorant and the usual common ducks and gulls............

Swans in flight is a spectacle that never grows old.
ReplyDeleteAnd now is the season the air is full of them.........
DeleteYou are right about Dunlin Stu. They are sometimes surprisingly difficult to see but better once they have the black belly. You had great light for those Whoopers.
ReplyDeleteThere's more snow forecast for the North this week. Unbelievable.
You're getting our weather for the tail end of winter.........
DeleteHello Stuart!:) Lovely IF shots of all the birds. Tricky, but your captures of the flock of Dunlins are wonderful.:)
ReplyDeleteThanks!
