Stilts in the gloom
There were 3 Black Winged Stilts near Yakumo as we headed home on Tuesday.................
It was very dark and then it started raining, not great for photography, the pics are a bit mushy again. The stilts were entertaining though.
They really do have long legs................
Eastern Marsh Harrier and Greenshank were also about as well as the commoner species...............
And here is a record shot of a local semi-rarity, My wife found it actually. A Yellow Wagtail, a scarce passage migrant in south Hokkaido.....................
April 29 to May 10 was a very hectic 12 day period with a lot of photos, I hope you enjoyed some of the spring birds of Southern Hokkaido...............
