Peregrine #1
A Peregrine at Sawara today.................
The strange winter weather continues. Very mild and persistent rain, god did I go to sleep last night and wake up in Preston?
No Gyrfalcon at Sawara this winter but this lage female Peregrine is the next best thing..............
It looked like it had caught some female duck, a Scaup or Black Scoter perhaps?
A Black Kite was circling overhead and chased the falcon.
Unfortunately as I panned and fired off a burst of shots the Peregrine flew behind a white marker stick in the sand dunes.
This shot was the worst affected, could have been a nice one......................
F***ing hell!
More Peregrine shots to come tomorrow sometime...............

A beautiful birds and great shots as well as seeing the action shots.
ReplyDeleteThanks Margaret. The white pole messed up the action shots a bit but I shouldn't complain....................
DeleteFantastic pictures Stu. You will know how our UK Peregrines are pretty high impossible to approach so I am intrigued to know why Japanese ones should be so apposite.
ReplyDeleteI wish I knew Phil..................although to be honest this was probably just extremely lucky today..................
DeleteNice shots - pity about the marker stick, that's "Real World" nature photography, I guess.
ReplyDeleteYes it was a genuine real natural white pole................
DeleteGreat pictures despite the obstacles. I think I wouldn't have done so well.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment Russell...............
