February begins
A low key start to February in Onuma...................
This pair of White Tailed Eagles was taken with the 2X teleconveter. You can easily see how the female is bigger than the male..................
The wintering Bean Goose was still around...............ignoring the shennanigens (sp?) of the Mallards.............
It must be a bit lonely..............
In among the wildfowl flock were 5 Smew, some Goosander...................and one Goldeneye.
And a few Pintail....................
Also round at Onuma were Crossbill, Kingfisher, Black Woodpecker and the usual common stuff..............

Stunningly good Pintail with the lovely reflections in the water.
ReplyDeleteThanks, the reflections are of a stone wall..................
DeleteSuper pics. Amazing to get so close to the Bean Goose. Lots of birds to keep you going so I reckon it's a good start to the month.
ReplyDeleteThanks Russell, yes there is only one but it is tame.......................
DeleteI like the yellow feet just visible in the top Bean Goose shot !
ReplyDelete'Yellow Footed Goose' sounds better than Bean Goose.
DeleteYup, the pintail shots are especially good :)
ReplyDeleteHi Start. the birds may be common to you but not to me and I love when you name them ALL as I learn that way.. Beautiful hots of all the ducks in that light and fabulous shots of the Bean goose.
ReplyDeleteThanks Margaret, I think you can see all the species in this post in the UK......................even Bean Goose!
DeleteIs there anything more elegant than a male pintail?
ReplyDeleteNot many but my fave duck here is Falcated Duck. Shame it is both scarce and shy...............
