A walk to the beach
I had a few hours spare so I walked down the local river to the beach..............
There were 3 Great Egrets on the river................
I was hoping to see either Crossbills or Waxwings but got neither. There were 6 species of duck on the river including 6 Goldeneye and about the same number of Goosander. Other stuff included Great Spotted Woodpecker, Coal and Varied Tit, Kingfisher and a few Dusky Thrush. Nothing on the beach and nothing on the sea except more Goosander.
There were a few Vega Gulls around in among the Slatybacks. This badly backlit one one was ringed.
Shame I couldn't read anything on the ring either. Wonder where it came from?
England lost heavily again in the ODI World Cup, why do they even bother going?

DeleteIt seems like a pleasant way to spend some spare time. Gulls are challenging!
ReplyDeleteI only photographed it because I hoped to be able to read the rings on my PC.................and the writing seems to be on the other side!
DeleteIt's always a pleasure to see a great Great Egret.
