It's a drag...............
Some more eagle shots from Yakumo a couple of days ago....................
We watched a White Tailed Eagle dive in the river and drag out a salmon...............
First time it missed.
Second time it flopped down in the water, walked along the riverbed and dragged the fish back to the bank...................
The salmon was already dead but still had a lot of meat on it...............
These shots were quite a long way away, I didn't have my teleconverters handy so some pretty heavy cropping going on here.
Even further away was a female (or immature) Hen Harrier being mobbed by crows, no pics survived the cull though.

DeleteThanks and you too Margaret.....................
DeleteA brilliant set of pictures there Stuart. Good exposures too considering, that snow and water can get in the way. Have a great Christmas. Shortest day here on Sunday - hooray.
ReplyDeleteThanks Phil, you too....................
DeleteSuper series! That is one happy (and selfish) eagle. For an eagle, it does a good job of "crowing". ;-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment Wilma..................
DeleteVery cool action photos! Quite a hefty fish too.
ReplyDeleteYes it was on the large side.....
DeleteGreat shots again Stu. Things are looking up, even the scouseres salvaged a point on 90+7 after dominating the "Gooners" Phew!!! that was close
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment Derek........................
