Recovery time...............
Feeling slightly better on Saturday I could spend a couple of hours birding................
Despite the season there wasn't much about. The first Chestnut-eared Buntings of the year, Great Egret, Osprey, a few common ducks but not much else.
Siberian Stonechats are back in force...............
The Saunders Gull is still around although not very active. It did search the tideline for food...........
And sometimes got lucky.............
Most of the time it just stood around............
Or flew off for a short time..............
6 species of gull in all. About 20 or so Black-headed (all in full adult summer plumage unlike the Saunders sadly) as well as these 2................
Vega Gull, a common winter visitor which we usually don't see so much of in summer plumage.
And this one. Tamiyr/Heuglins Gull...............
I will recover just before a) the weather improves and b) I'm really busy at work again. I may miss a big part of spring migration, the best part of the birding year...........

I am glad to hear that you are feeling somewhat better. It’s too bad that your work is so demanding that it basically keeps you occupied so totally. What is it that you do?
ReplyDeleteI'm a private English tutor. Not a demanding job by anyone's standards! The coming week is busy because this week has been a holiday period so most people postponed their lessons but are cramming them in next week instead............
