A rainy Sunday in mid April
It was raining all day today...................
We headed east but there wasn't much about. Some Harlequin Ducks and Red-breasted Mergansers in the ports.............
Lots of Common Gulls around and at least 2 Black-legged Kittiwakes. Other stuff included my first singing Japanese Bush Warbler of the year, Blue Rock Thrush, Brent Goose and Great Egret.
In town last week there were Crossbill, Hawfinch, Dusky Thrush, Pochard and Peregrine but not much else.
Spring migration will kick off in earnest soon enough though...........

We have just returned from BC where we saw Harlequin Ducks almost every day. Here one a year is a cause for great excitement!
ReplyDeleteThere would be a similar reaction if one showed up in the UK
