The lull begins........
A Bull-headed Shrike fledgeling near my apartment yesterday..............
Midsummer means the start of a quiet few weeks birdingwise. Not so much happening in south Hokkaido (although we are heading north for a week in a couple of days, the birding calendar is 2 or 3 weeks later there).
This is the female Shrike..............
These photos were with the 1.4X teleconverter on my old 100-400L, something I was trying for the first time. Not so completely bad as I'd been expecting actually although the lighting on the above 2 was not friendly.
Only common stuff around including this Oriental Greenfinch........
Hopefully I'll see some interesting stuff up north which i'll post in early July..............
