A Late Spring Trip #8

A while ago we noticed an injured Black Scoter in a port to the north of town.............

And it has apparently decided to remain there.

It didn't look entirely healthy but we saw it swim, dive and eat at least...............

There was another pair of the same species on  open sea nearby as well as a few Sacup and Wigeon scattered around.

Yakumo was pretty quiet: just the common summer stuff around including Grays Grasshopper Warbler, Osprey, Cuckoo, Little-ringed Plover and Black-browed Reed Warbler.

And the Siberian Stonechats must have chicks to feed already...............

  1. If the scoter swims, dives and eats it may recover totally.
