Some more KPs
The Kentish Plovers were still watching over their young on Monday....................
They were difficult to get close to and very active.
They occasionally stayed still.............
Otherwise very quiet. The Great-crested Grebe was still on its nest in Onuma...............
This male Goosander (together with 2 male Red-breasted Mergansers) was at Kamiiso................
In town there is a small patch of wasteland that had Chestnut-eared and Reed Bunting as well as Stonechats and Oriental Reed Warblers but the only bird that came close enough for a photo was this Skylark...............
This time last year there were loads of Rhinoceros Auklets close inshore. This must have been because of there being unusually large numbers lots sardines around Hakodate. Om Monday I saw just 2 auklets well offshore. Maybe more will appear if the sardines hit town again?
