Just outside town there was a group of 6 White-fronted Geese on the beach..............
I seem to have seen a lot of these in various locales this autumn...........
Also around were a lone Dunlin, a single Whooper Swan, various gulls including Glaucous Winged Gull, 7 Great Egret, rafts of Scaup offshore and a few Wigeon here and there..............
Seems odd. I don't associate geese with beaches.
ReplyDeleteIt was near a river mouth..................anyway I guess they're just pausing for a rest on their way south.
DeleteNo I never see many geese at beaches here either. Great shots of them
ReplyDeleteThanks Margaret.............
DeleteGoodness Stuart. I can't imagine getting anywhere near White fronts or pinkies like that. Of course our geese are at this very moment getting daily blasts from the "sportsmen".
ReplyDeleteThey were pretty skittish actually............
