It was a mild late November day in Yakumo...............
Stellers seem be outnumbering White-tailed Eagles this year. Here are 2 of the latter.............
It was very dark, the light was really nasty most of the day...................
Most of these shots of eagles in the river were out of the car window, this is easy to do before the snow comes (the snowplows pile up snow on the sides of the road, often making it too narrow to pull over to the side).
Here's one in a tree.............
And some BIFs from later in the afternoon when the sun made a brief appearance..............
Some amazing pictures, Stuart. I really love the one in the tree. It is a really special place. Good to see the Stellers return.
ReplyDeleteThanks Russell............
DeleteYou must look forward to this time of year Stu. I'll bet it's difficult to pull yourself away from watching and photographing such wonderful birds.
ReplyDeleteIt is my fave time of the year it's true.........
DeleteHello Stuart!:) I'm so glad you were able to get these superb shots before the snow arrives. It's a pleasure to see so many of these magnificent raptors, and the White-tailed Eagle shot in the tree is fantastic.:)
ReplyDeleteThanks! Actually the one in the tree is a Stellers Sea Eagle.........
DeleteThe "wings down" BIF is my favourite - ah, Steller's SEs from the car !
ReplyDeleteThey generally fly off if you get out..............
