Sunshine comes back as work returns...............
After having my 2 days off ruined by horrible weather the sunshine came back as I returned to work...............
Luckily I could sneak a couple of hours in at Kamiiso and the American Wigeon was still there..............
All shots at 700mm out of the car window again...................
It never really got close, still some cropping going on here.................
The different layout of the menu on the 7D2 is taking a bit of getting used to.......................
Wonder how long it will stick around? The wigeon flock is quite small (about 20 or so) and they seem very wary and skittish, as soon as I got out of the car they flew off and landed in the middle of the harbour...............
It did look pretty tired.

They do look good. It's amazing the difference a touch of sun makes! I don't think I'll tell my friend re the quality yet as his hasn't arrived, he's off on a trip, and is having trouble with his old 7D!
ReplyDeleteHi, yes good light is the biggest single factor in bird photos I think..............
DeleteI am so glad you the American Wigeon was there with the good weather for you to get these great shots.
ReplyDeleteI was glad too Margaret..................
DeleteBeautiful series of images. That 500mm Mk II is treating you well!
ReplyDeleteThanks Carmo, in 3 months I'll have finished paying it off too..............
DeleteReally nice images. We've had a Garganey in with Wigeon but I haven't seen it. The new camera seems the business. Not available yet here but can be preordered at £1599! I checked Amazon USA - c. £1199!
ReplyDeleteI'll have to wait until my 70d packs in.
Thanks Stuart. I thought you had a 1D3 these days?
DeleteGood light makes a world of difference, no doubt. I find I can only stand so many dark and "atmospheric" sessions before my interest wanes….Still sunshine and a desirable bird - such as here - is an unbeatable combination !
ReplyDeleteThanks john, I have 2 days coming up with no work so hopefully I can find the new camera some other nice birds to photograph..................
