Extended Eagle
Last week at Yakumo there were only a handful of eagles, today there lots.
The above pic was taken with a 2X teleconverter, meaning a FL of 1000mm. It's not too bad considering......................
The eagles were a bit wary, I got a few BIF shots but nothing special, I've been taking near identical photos for the last 7 years..........................
The 7D2 does seem to lock on fast but the light wasn't great and the eagles weren't as close as I'd have liked.
Surprisingly mild today, not many days can you see butterflies and Stellers Sea Eagles on the same day.

ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment Wilma............
DeleteBeautiful and majestic birds, How impressive!
ReplyDeleteGreat pics, Stuart!
Butterfly here today too Stu, no eagles sadly - there is a/has been Steller's in southern Sweden apparently. Oh for some white tails on the Ribble estuary.....

Maybe they should reintroduce White Taileds to the Fylde. We could yet see them fishing in Stanley park.....................
DeleteThey brings back memories! Its good to hear that the new camera locks on quickly especially in the dull light.
ReplyDeleteHopefully there'll be many more opportunities to test it soon..............
DeleteGreat pictures with the new camera. You have a lot to look forward too in winter where you are. Still a couple of months wait to get a distant glimpse of a solitary Steller's Sea-eagle here....if we're lucky.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you'll need a 2X extender too................
DeleteLooks like the new camera is doing a great job as these shots are Marvellous.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment Margaret...................
