End of Golden Week
A Varied Tit this morning.............
Not a great day for photos. Migrants still thin on the ground. A flock of Russett Sparrow in Goryokaku Park, Crossbill, B/W Flycatcher and Eastern Crowned Warbler in the east of town................offshore there were Short Tailed Shearwater, Red Breasted Merganser, Red Necked Grebe and Black Throated Diver in summer plumage and a flock of Brent Geese at Menagawa.
Bit of a bizarre end to Liverpool's title challenge. In what seemed like about 5 minutes I went from thinking "oh let's close the goal difference and put some pressure on City" to "oh f**k they just threw away a 3 goal lead and any hopes of being champions".
Another thing that seems to be damaged is my knees, they are very painful. I gained weight last winter and although some of it has come off the cumulative strain of carrying excess weight and walking around with big lenses on already dodgy knees (courtesy of a sporting injury when I was a teenager) may have resulted in the need for a visit to the hospital. Yikes.

You found more birds this Golden Week than I did. You've convinced me to stay away from big lenses but your pics are beautiful. I hurt my knee playing tennis last October and it ruined my winter. I may have to think mirrorless in the future.
ReplyDeleteNo pain no gain Russell!
DeleteTry to work through the pain barrier Stu. Hospitals, I hate them.
ReplyDeleteI hate them too but sometimes we have to do stuff we hate..................
DeleteSorry to hear about the knees…
ReplyDeleteI wasn't going to mention Liverpool.
Thanks John, I wonder which is more likely.................my knees making a full recovery by the end of the week or Aston Villa doing City tonight?
DeleteCome on, Villa !
DeleteWatch Villa win tonight and then Liverpool fail to beat Newcastle at the weekend. Now that would put me off footy for life...............
