October BCNHs

More nice autumnal weather, more Black-crowned Night Herons............

Not as many visible as last week but who knows how many more were hiding in the grass..............

There was also a single Grey Heron, a female Shoveler, a few Common Teal and a couple of Grey Wagtail.

The fine weather may mean all the migrants are passing right south Hokkaido through without stopping: I couldn't see any passerines at all in the bushes except 1 Black-faced Bunting.

  1. Fine weather ? I'm happy for the birds, but sometimes selfish me would like to see more of them inconvenienced and photographable....
