Every October the Harlequin Ducks return to the coast..............
They must ne moulting, they sit around on rocks (or concrete tetrapods like these ones) but swim away as soon as you approach..............
Sometimes they are in shadow...............
And sometimes they aren't.....................
Beautiful looking ducks. The only time I saw them was when I visite Iceland

DeleteHarlequin is a fabulous duck....I remember screeching to a halt near Rausu for shots of those a few years ago...
