Just me and it.................
I had a brief look at Sawara on Monday morning.........................
And there was nobody else there. I strode off looking for the Gyrfalcon: I was hoping to get some shots (and maybe a video) of it feeding.
I didn't get those alas but I stumbled across it by accident, it was just standing around minding its own business. It hopped off a little so I could get shots with different backgrounds at least..............
Somw white feathers there..................is it going to be a white morph if/when it returns in subsequent winters?
We looked at each other. just me and it (or 'her' maybe, it is pretty big). Then it flapped off presumably looking for breakfast and our paths didn't cross again.
Will this be my last sighting of this great bird? I'm surprised it has stayed so long...........maybe it will hang around a while longer due to the abundant food on tap (there is a seafood factory nearby with thousands and thousands of gulls hangoing around outside).

The Gyr has certainly been a regular for you Stu. Lots of great pictures and memories even if it doesn't return next year.
ReplyDeleteHi Phil, yes it has been great this winter having such a bird on my doorstep................
DeleteGreat bird ! Has everyone else grown tired of it ? I certainly haven't….
ReplyDeleteHi John, I think it was a Monday morning so not many people about. Also, like me, everyone was assuming it'd be gone by now.
