Some more Owls..................

I went back to the same forest on Monday and there was a different Ural Owl family in a different place.............

These were in a more open area and even though it was raining it was a lot brighter than deep in the forest. They were a bit high up however. This fledgling could just about flap and hop its way around.................

The mother was watching from nearby................

The chick from Sunday was in the same place (and the mosquitoes were even worse this time.............)

I managed to glimpse the Ruddy Kingfishers several times but no photos........................

Another stressful middle of the night World Cup experience  looms, why is watching England so draining?

  7. Stunning pictures, Stu. The white sky and green makes for beautiful framing of the subjects and how cool are they?

  10. Thats a great set of images - owls are such good value birds.

I think its the sense that disaster is always one step around the corner that makes it so hard. "Never has so much been given to so few for so little"

  11. Great Owls, the young look very appealing. As you say, they'll grow up into killers, though.

Can England make it three in a row ? I've a feeling they can. I told people in Costa Rica back in Feb/March I'd be thinking of them when the England/CR match came on. I didn't imagine CR would be topping the group and England would be at the bottom !

    1. Yes Costa Rica snuck in under the radar. Anyway John..........................lets just not discuss England's footy team for a while, I need a month or so not thinking about them to move forward here..................

  12. I can hear the"oohs" and "aaahs" from here for those owlets. At least you don't have to see all the Cross of St George flags on lots of cars - already decreasing.
