Waders in the rain.............

Some more waders from near Tomakomai last week...........

After Red-necked Stint Mongolian Plover were the most numerous species on view...............

I think most of these are juveniles. There were a couple of adults still showing a lot of summer plumage but they didn't come close............

Kentish Plover were around too as were Little-ringed Plover..........

And several Dunlin too.

So with the Broad-billed Sandpiper and Long-toed Stint this is a good spot for shorebirds (we've been here several times although it is a tad unpredictable) and even though the Spoon-billed Sandpiper had gone it still worth the 3 hour drive through pouring rain from our campsite.
