Still hanging on in there..........

The Saunders Gull was still around on Sunday...............

There was a strong SW wind blowing smoggy hazy air from the Asian mainland but sadly it didn't blow any interesting new birds our way.

At least the Saunders Gull was still around. It was doing a lot of fishing............

The Saunders Gull is a real character..............it is much more tern-like than the other 5 gull species present.

And you have to admit it's pretty cute.............

It's a tiny gull as you can see when it stands next to other species. Common Gulls aren't that big but the Saunders is way smaller.............

Other wise pretty quiet. There was 1 Japanese Waxwing on the river near my apartment this morning. At Kamiiso there was a Peregrine and along the coast there were lots of Osprey and still a few winter ducks around. There were 2 flocks of Crossbill that looked like they had flown in off the sea but I couldn't get any pictures.................
