Spring ducks

Late March is usually a good time for wildfowl..............

And north of Yakumo the ports were again productive...............

There were lots of Black Scoter on the sea but a few were resting in the ports.............

This pair of Long-tailed Ducks was in the same port:

This is the female.........

And here's the male.................

The commonest duck by far is Great Scaup..............

A bit further round the coast there were some Harlequin Ducks..........

Fine spring weather as you can see............most of the snow has melted in town..............a lot more quickly that I thought it would.
