A short walk near my apartment............

One of 3 species of heron on the river near my flat today.................

There were 3 Black-crowned Night Heron, 1 Grey Heron and 2 Great Egret. One of the latter was perched on a rooftop...................

Common Teal have arrived for the winter to join the resident Spot-billed Ducks. Today there was also a Shoveler with them..............

Not much else around; almost no small migrants..........except 1 Black-faced Bunting. Near Kamiiso there were Scaup and Wigeon offshore and a lone Osprey fishing in one of the ports. A single grey goose flew over just as I was leaving. A White-fronted Goose I think.

  1. Those Spot-billed Ducks look rather interesting as well as very different. I've never seen those, even in collections.

    1. To be fair they aren't the most spectacular duck in the world........
