New Year 2017 in Yakumo #5

We spent a third day in Yakumo on January 4th.................

The eagles were still showing very nicely.

Several White-tailed Eagles were feeding very close to the bridge..................

It maybe almost blasphemous to say but you know I almost prefer White-taileds to Stellers. There, I said it.............

This one was almost directly under me.............

As you can see, no snow. It was a very mild day again.

Here's an immature coming into land................

I never get tired of these birds.............

The sun even shone.............

An eagle equivalent of tooth brushing.................

The Stellers didn't come so close, here's a BIF..................

  2. You know sometimes the preferences we have are pretty marginal..maybe you like the White-tailed Eagles 100 on a scale of 1 to 100, and the Steller's Fish Eagles 99.9. It's hard for someone who has never seen them to fail be impressed.

    1. I guess I subconsciously concentrate on the Stellers anyway and I feel I overlook the White-taileds slightly.........
