A very busy month ends............

Wow that was a busy month (birdingwise at least)..............

The Peregrine pair to the west of town were on their little cliff this morning....................

A bit overcast and the light never seems to be great at this place...............

One of them brought lunch..............

I hope to get some more (better) shots than these as the summer progresses.............

The female is much bigger than its mate, I was surprised at the size difference.

The birding quitens down around this time. A few straggling duck were still around, Red Breasted Merganser, Wigeon and Scaup. A White Tailed Eagle was high in the sky near the Peregrines and this lone Whimbrel was on the beach at Kamiiso.

  1. This is such a spectacular series. I would give a lot to see Peregrine Falcons breeding in this kind of natural setting. You are a lucky man. And the photographs look great to me.

    1. Thanks, they are common all around the coast here, and there are plenty of tall rocks next to the sea where they can nest.

  4. Great Peregrines....while the sky stays grey I think I prefer the shots with the rocky backgrounds.

  5. Spectacular pictures, Stu. I've been watching kestrels and peregrines far away and can't get pics anywhere near these. I like the peregrines with rock backgrounds too.
